Pankaj Tripathi’s AK Shrivastav struggles to differentiate between facts and fiction after getting diagnosed with retrograde amnesia and being told different stories about his past in the trailer of Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Kadak Singh, dropped by ZEE5.
The two-minute-51-second-long trailer reveals that AK’s children called him Kadak Singh because of his hotheadedness and strictness. On the hospital bed, AK is an eccentric but affable person. He is narrated four accounts about his past that makes him question reality and his identity. Four characters — played by Sanjana Sanghi, Jaya Ahsan, Dilip Shankar and Parvathy Thiruvothu — narrate various aspects of his life to him which are in contrast with what little he retains.
Sanjana Sanghi plays AK’s daughter, Sakshi Srivastava, whom the latter cannot recognise. Jaya Ahsan’s Naina is AK’s girlfriend, while Dilip Shankar’s Tyagi plays his boss. Parvathy Thiruvothu plays the head nurse at the hospital.
But as AK embarks on a journey to find out the truth about himself, he stumbles upon evidence hinting that he may have secrets in his past that others may not want him to discover.
Pankaj took to his Instagram on Monday and shared the trailer with his followers. “Ek haadsa. 4 kahanaiyaan. 1 blurry truth. Will #KadakSingh be able to find his truth? Trailer Out Now!” he wrote alongside the video.
Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury is known for making films like Pink (2016) and Lost (2022).
Kadak Singh is slated to release on ZEE5 on December 8.
