BigHit music has dropped a new poster announcing that BTS member V’s new project TYPE 1, presumably a tribute to the fans of the popular K-pop band, will release on July 9.
The black-and-white poster features a shirtless V hiding his face and leaning on a makeshift wall. It also shows some lines from the singer’s 2019 single Scenery. “I still wonder wonder beautiful story, still wonder wonder best part, I still wonder wonder next story, I want to make you mine,” the poster contains these words.
Sharing the poster on their official X handle on Tuesday, BTS Official wrote, “V 'TYPE 1' Poster, Pre-order: 2024.6.27. 11AM (KST) Release: 2024.7.9. (KST).”
Fans speculate that TYPE 1 is going to be V’s nod to BTS fans, known as ARMY, as the release date of the new project coincides with ARMY DAY — the day when the term ARMY was first coined as the official name of the fandom.
Currently, V is serving in the South Korean military. His new single FRI(END)S came out on March 15. He also appeared in the music video for K-Pop artist IU's single Love Wins All, which was released on January 24.
BigHit Music’s announcement of TYPE 1 comes hot on the heels of the first-look teaser of MUSE, the upcoming album of Jimin, who is serving the mandatory military service in South Korea along with fellow bandmates V, RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, and Jungkook. MUSE is slated to release on July 19.
