K-pop group BTS will release a book on the history of the group in South Korea and the US on July 9, according to publishing house Pan Macmillan India.
The book, Beyond the Story: 10-year Record of BTS, has already found its way on the bestseller list before its publication. It is 544 pages long and written by journalist Myeongseok Kang and members of the group.
On Friday, Pan Macmillan India announced the release of the book via an Instagram post. "Yes, you heard it right! BEYOND THE STORY: 10-YEAR RECORD OF BTS from BTS and Myeongseok Kang is to publish this July!,” the post reads.
Incidentally, the book will be released on BTS fanbase ARMY’s 10th anniversary. It is structured like an oral history about the K-pop boy band.
Beyond the Story: 10-year Record of BTS, will be published in South Korea by Big Hit Music. Anton Hurg along with Clare Richards and Slin Jung will be behind the English translation of the book. The US edition, published by Flatiron Books, will come with exclusive pictures of the band members.
Earlier this week, there has been intense fan speculation that Flatiron would publish a nonfiction title about a pop phenomenon this summer. Taylor Swift fans thought that it would be the surprise memoir of their favourite singer and pre-booked the title. But the guessing game ended yesterday when the publishers finally revealed the name, author and content of the book.
The boy band members — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — are currently on a break to serve their mandatory military service as well as pursue their careers as solo musicians.
