“Heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the national awards. A special shoutout to our very own @rishabshettyofficial. @Vkiragandur. Prashanth Neel and the entire @hombalefilms team for the well-deserved recognition for Kantara and KGF 2. Here's to many more heights. This is indeed Kannada cinema's shining moment on the national stage,” read Yash’s note on his Instagram story.
While Rishab Shetty bagged the best actor trophy for his role in Vijay Kiragandur’s Kantara, KGF: Chapter 2 starring Yash won the best Kannada feature film award. Further, stunt choreographer Anbariv bagged the best action director award for K.G.F: Chapter 2 helmed by Prashanth Neel.
Rishab also expressed gratitude after receiving a National Award for Kantara in a long note on Instagram.
“I am truly overwhelmed by the honor of this National Award for 'Kantara.' I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey, the incredible team of artists, technicians and especially Hombale Films. The audiences have made this film what it is and their support fills me with a deep sense of responsibility,” he wrote, adding that he would work even harder to bring better films to his audience.
Rishab dedicated the award to the Kannada audience, the Daiva Nartakas, and the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar.
On the work front, Yash has started shooting for his upcoming movie Toxic, backed by KVN Productions.
Rishab, on the other hand, is currently working on Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster. The upcoming film also stars Tollywood actor Jisshu Sengupta in a key role.
