Jurassic World: Rebirth starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali will hit theatres in July 2025, the makers announced on Thursday.
“Jurassic World Rebirth. In theatres July 2025,” production banner Universal Pictures wrote on Instagram, sharing the title logo of the film, the fourth instalment in the Jurassic World franchise.
The makers also released first-look images of the lead actors, providing a sneak peek into the new Jurassic era and teasing the new world that awaits. The first picture features Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey observing or hiding from a dinosaur.
The second picture features actor Mahershala Ali dressed in military attire and holding a lit road flare, a scene reminiscent of sequences from the past instalments. “A new era is born. #JurassicWorldRebirth,” reads the caption.
The upcoming film is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), with the planet now largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. The remaining dinosaurs are confined to remote equatorial regions with climates resembling those in which they once thrived. The movie's central mission revolves around the three largest surviving dinosaurs, which hold the key to a potentially life-saving drug that could offer miraculous benefits to humanity.
Helmed by Gareth Edwards and written by Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, the film also stars Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Lacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain and Ed Skrein.
The Jurassic Park franchise began with Jurassic Park in 1993, followed by The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997 and Jurassic Park III in 2001. The film series was reintroduced with Jurassic World in 2015, continuing with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018 and Jurassic World Dominion in 2022.
