Julia Roberts would like to star in a sequel to her 1997 American romantic comedy My Best Friend’s Wedding, the actress revealed at Andy Cohen-hosted talk show Watch What Happens Live on Friday.
Asked to name one of her movies for which she would like to do a sequel, the four-time Oscar-nominated actress replied, “I think, maybe, My Best Friend’s Wedding.”
“Because there’s so many people in it, and to see what they’re doing and how Kimmy and Michael’s marriage is going…,” the actress added, elaborating on her choice.
Roberts also went on to answer Cohen’s follow-up question relating to the romcom, saying Michael should have married Jules in the romcom.
My Best Friend’s Wedding, also featuring Dermot Mulroney, Cameron Diaz and Rupert Everett, revolves around the heartbreaking adventures of a woman who realises too late that she is in love with her best friend. A global box-office success, the film produced by Ronald Bass and directed by P.J. Hogan was also nominated for Best Motion Picture-Comedy or Musical at the Golden Globe Awards.
