Popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen will be renewed for a third season covering the Culling Game arc, the show’s official X page announced on Thursday.
“The production of Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Games arc has been decided, which will depict the deaths of people at the hands of cursed spirits, provoked by the worst jujutsu sorcerer in history — Noritoshi Kamo,” shared the anime’s official page on X alongside a short teaser of the upcoming season.
Showcasing some animated panels from the manga written by Gege Akutami, the teaser hinted that the upcoming arc will see the protagonist, Yuji Itadori, and his fellow Jujutsu sorcerers entangled in a sinister battle royale-esque competition orchestrated by Noritoshi Kamo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, which covered the story’s Shibuya arc, was one of the most hyped anime sequels of 2023. Its high-octane action scenes made it the second-most trending anime on X.
The story of Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around Yuji Itadori, a high school student who joins a clandestine group of Jujutsu sorcerers to combat cursed spirits. All seasons of the anime are currently available to stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
