Jr NTR’s latest film Devara: Part 1 has witnessed a 68 per cent decrease in box office collections on its first Monday, adding only Rs 12.5 crore to its kitty, following a strong opening weekend, as per industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk.
Also starring Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, Devara: Part 1 earned Rs 82.5 crore nett on its first day, followed by Rs 38.2 crore nett on the second day. The film went on to earn Rs 39.9 crore nett on Sunday.
With Monday’s earnings, Devara’s total box office collection in India now stands at Rs 173.1 crore nett after four days.
The Telugu version of Devara accounted for Rs 136.5 crore nett ,while the Hindi version contributed Rs 31 crore nett. The Tamil version earned Rs 3.45 crore nett, with the Kannada and Malayalam versions bringing in Rs 1.15 crore nett and Rs 1 crore nett, respectively.
At the global box office, Devara: Part 1 has collected Rs 304 crore gross so far.
Devara: Part 1 features Jr NTR in a double role. Set in the 1980s and 90s on the Andhra-Tamil Nadu border, the film revolves around clans that help smugglers avoid the coast guard and bring weapons into the country. Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan play the leaders of these clans who end up in conflict.
