Joni Mitchell will perform live at the 66th Grammys on February 4, the US-based Recording Academy announced on Monday. This is the first time that the 80-year-old entertainer will join the line-up of live performers at the award ceremony.
“Don’t miss nine-time GRAMMY winner and past @MusiCares Person of the Year @jonimitchell’s first-ever #GRAMMYs performance! Tune-in to @cbs on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT,” the Recording Academy wrote on social media alongside a poster featuring one of the veteran singer’s iconic moments on stage.
Being a nine-time Grammy winner and the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year honoree, Mitchell also received the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award awarded in 2002. She won her first Grammy in 1969 for the album Clouds in the Best Folk Performance category.
Apart from Mitchell, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Billy Joel, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, Burna Boy and Luke Combs will also perform live at the award show. Irish rock band U2’s performance will also be broadcasted live from Sphere in Las Vegas at the Grammys.
Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, the 66th Grammy Awards will take place on February 4 at Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena.
