Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Flake aka Joker and Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn set the screen on fire with their tumultuous romance in director Todd Phillips’s Joker: Folie a Deux, the trailer of which was dropped by the makers on Wednesday.
“He's not alone anymore. Joker: Folie à Deux – only in theaters and @IMAX, October 4. #JokerMovie #FilmedForIMAX,” the official handle of the film wrote on X alongside the video.
The two-minute-23-second trailer promises a riveting tale of chaos and romance. It begins with Arthur Flake incarcerated at Arkham Asylum where he spots Harley Quinn. Seeking solace in music, the duo form a bond, which soon evolves into a love affair. The trailer showcases the duo's chaotic relationship and their joint descent into madness.
The trailer also provides glimpses of Phoenix and Gaga's dance numbers, including scenes outside a courtroom, at a pub, on a rooftop, and on a dramatic stage. It concludes with a chilling moment as Harley draws a smile on glass and confronts Joker, saying, “I want to see the real you.”
In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, the film boasts an ensemble cast including Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, and Brendan Gleeson. Joker: Folie a Deux is set to hit theaters on October 4.
