JioCinema has rolled out a premium subscription plan that would provide users access to HBO and Warner Bros. shows and movies.
The OTT platform will be charging Rs 999 a year for the service and will allow users to stream content simultaneously in four devices.
The JioCinema app, which can be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices, recently gained popularity for its free streaming of FIFA World Cup 2022 and IPL 2023.
The HBO shows currently available for streaming on the app include Succession, The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, Westworld, The White Lotus, Mare of Easttown, Winning Time, Barry, Big Little Lies, Chernobyl, White House Plumbers, Silicon Valley, True Detective, Newsroom, Game of Thrones, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Perry Mason.
The platform is also streaming Warners Bros. content like Harry Potter movies, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
As part of Viacom 18’s deal with Warner Bros, inked in April, content from HBO, Max Original and Warner Bros. will be available on the JioCinema app in India. Earlier, Disney+Hotstar was the home for HBO content in India. But such content was taken off the platform after Disney ended the deal with HBO as part of CEO Bob Iger’s cost- cutting measures.
