K-pop singer Jimin has surprised his fans by performing a rendition of the song Dear Army ahead of the 10th anniversary of the South Korean boy band BTS.

The song is dedicated to the BTS fans — popularly known as the BTS Army — and is also part of the English version of Jimin’s debut solo album FACE, which made him the first South Korean solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in the chart’s nearly 65-year history.

In a video shared by BANGTAN TV on YouTube, the 27-year-old singer is seen crooning the lyrics of the song into a microphone. “What should I say, and how should I say it? I’m not so good at this. I know it may seem cliche, but I’ll try not to make it sound so light as I convey these words. I say oh oh I want you to be happier. Whenever I stumbled and fell, you who reached out your hand to me,” the song's English translation reads.

The four-minute-11-second video comes a week before BTS celebrates their 10th Anniversary with their annual festival FESTA, which is set to take place on June 17 in Seoul, South Korea.

BTS members Jin and J-Hope are currently completing their mandatory army service. The band's leader, RM, is up next to go for military training. The seven-member boy band has been on a hiatus since June 2022 and is likely to return as a group sometime in 2025.
