Actress Alia Bhatt shared the first-look posters of her and Vedang Raina from Jigra on Thursday, hinting at an explosive thriller centred on the bond between a sister and her younger brother.

One of the posters shows the actress standing on top of an overturned car with her back to the camera as flames blaze in the background, which also features Vedang’s silhouette.

“Tu mere protection mein hai,” reads the caption to the poster shared on Instagram on Thursday.

Another poster shows Alia wearing a security vest as a fire rages behind her. “Kahaani bahut lambi hai aur bhai ke paas waqt bahut bahut kam (The story is very long but my brother has very little time left),” reads the caption to the poster.

Alia and Vedang play on-screen siblings in Jigra, helmed by Monica, O My Darling director Vasan Bala. First announced in September last year, the film follows a sister’s brave attempts to protect her brother at all costs.

Jigra is the third project under Alia’s home banner Eternal Sunshine Productions after Netflix’s 2022 dark comedy Darlings and the 2024 Amazon Prime Video crime-drama series Poacher.

Marking Alia’s first collaboration with director Vasan Bala, Jigra is co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Alia, Karan, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra are credited as producers on the upcoming project.

Though Jigra was earlier scheduled for release on September 27, it is now slated to hit theatres on October 11. The release date was pushed to avoid a box-office clash with Jr NTR's Devara.

Vedang made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies last year. Alia, on the other hand, is set to headline YRF Spy Universe’s first female-led film Alpha alongside Veda actress Sharvari Wagh.
