After a successful career on TV for almost two decades, heartthrob Jennifer Winget is making inroads in the world of streaming, first with Code M and now with the Sony LIV series Raisinghani Vs Raisinghani. Jennifer spoke to The Telegraph Online about new show, her onscreen chemistry with co-star Karan Wahi and how she stays fit.
What kind of response are you receiving to your role in Raisinghani Vs Raisinghani?
Jennifer Winget: The response to Raisinghani Vs Raisinghani has been heartening. The reactions have been supremely positive and I couldn’t be more grateful for the appreciation. It’s so fulfilling to know that audiences are resonating with the authenticity and depth I bring to the character of Anushka Raisinghani.
Fans are happy that you have collaborated with Karan Wahi after years.
Jennifer Winget: Working with Karan Wahi after all these years has been an absolute delight. Our camaraderie and friendship over the years makes the job so easy. Karan as a co-star is truly supportive and helps me deliver my best. I feel our chemistry also lights up the screen, adding to the overall narrative in ways we couldn’t have imagined.
What did you love about your character when you read the script?
Jennifer Winget: When I first read the script and discovered Anushka Raisinghani, I was fascinated. She’s this beautifully complex character with layers upon layers of depth and resilience. As an actor, diving into her world has been a thrilling journey of self-discovery and growth, both personally and professionally.
After years of experience and many achievements, what do you aspire for now as an actor?
Jennifer Winget: Despite all the milestones, my aspiration as an actor remains as fiery as ever. I live for the thrill of challenging myself and pushing the boundaries of my craft to new heights. I have always craved diverse roles and narratives that not only entertain but resonate with audiences and evoke some thought. I am always up for any creative challenges.
Over the years, you have had a huge fan following because of your popular TV shows. How was it to cater to the new streaming audience?
Jennifer Winget: Catering to the streaming audience has been an absolute blast. The digital realm opens up a whole new world of possibilities, connecting us with viewers across the globe. The sheer excitement of exploring narratives that were once deemed impossible in traditional formats is just electrifying. And the fans’ reactions have been priceless.
There are many Indian and international legal shows on streaming platforms. What are your favourites?
Jennifer Winget: I have had the pleasure of delving into a few Indian and international legal dramas and they have left me utterly spellbound. The quality of storytelling and performances is exceptional. I recently saw Anatomy of a Scandal (streaming on Netflix), which I thought was very good with a gripping narrative and compelling characters.
You inspire a lot of women to look beautiful and fit. What are your suggestions for working women like you?
Jennifer Winget: Let’s talk about keeping fit in this whirlwind of a schedule. Finding time regularly for workouts is a bit of a challenge, I will admit. But I have discovered the wonders of intermittent fasting, which is a real game-changer in maintaining a good physique. Alongside that, I make sure to have mindful eating habits and stay hydrated.
What else is keeping you busy?
Jennifer Winget: Beyond the glitz and glamour of my acting commitments, I am keen on exploring all sorts of creative endeavours. Whether it’s diving headfirst into new projects, honing my skills in different art forms, or simply soaking up some quality time with my nearest and dearest, life off-screen is an exhilarating adventure all on its own.
