Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez’s Manish Malhotra-designed birthday gown was crafted by 40 artisans over a period of 3,490 hours, the couturier revealed on Thursday, sharing pictures of the ensemble.
Lopez, who turned 55 on July 24, celebrated her special day with a Bridgerton-themed bash. She donned a turquoise-and-gold custom gown.
The corset and the Victorian skirt of Lopez’s gown were adorned with vintage brocade. The ensemble featured floral motifs moulded by hand with sequins and crystals.
“Petal and ring-shaped metal sequins were especially treated to preserve their hue to craft this ensemble, a celebration of intricate artistry and Indian craftsmanship,” wrote Malhotra while describing the details of the gorgeous outfit in his caption.
Lopez also dropped a video featuring clips from her glamorous birthday party. While the montage featured Lopez’s mother Guadalupe Rodríguez, her husband Ben Affleck and kids did not appear in the video.
On the work front, Lopez recently made a comeback to the music industry with her album This is Me….Now, which debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200. She also released the documentary This Is Me... Now: A Love Story, which chronicled her highly-scrutinised love life.
Lopez last starred in the Netflix sci-fi film Atlas. She has William Goldenberg’s biographical sports drama film Unstoppable and Bill Condon’s musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman in the pipeline.
