Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 55th birthday on Wednesday with an opulent Bridgerton-themed party that her husband Ben Affleck may have given a miss amidst separation rumours.

A video of the celebrations featuring ballroom dancing, Regency-style gowns and goblets was shared by the actress-singer on Instagram on Thursday. While it featured Lopez’s mother Guadalupe Rodríguez, Affleck and kids didn’t appear in the video.

“Dearest Gentle Reader…And a splendid evening was had by all,” Lopez wrote alongside the video.

Set to the Bridgerton score Give Me Everything by Archer Marsh, the video features montages from the glamorous party, taking fans on a journey back to the lavish Regency Era. It begins with a shot of a horse carriage arriving at The Hamptons in Long Island’s South Fork.

As the clip unfolds, guests dressed in regal attire can be seen engaging in a ballroom dance while a mini-orchestra plays the music. Lopez looked gorgeous in a green Regency-style gown with sheer opera gloves. Her hair was tied in a layered bun fastened with a golden tiara and silver-studded earrings complemented her outfit.

The Ain’t Your Mama singer also picked up the microphone and sang a song. Pictures featuring Lopez with her friends and family from the party also appear in the video.

Lopez recently made a comeback to the music industry with her album This is Me….Now, which debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200. She also released the documentary This Is Me... Now: A Love Story, which chronicled her highly-scrutinised love life.

Before dropping the video, Lopez shared a mirror selfie with the caption “This Is Me…Now (birthday cake emoji).” She looked radiant in a solid white monokini paired with golden bangles and earrings.

Lopez last starred in the Netflix sci-fi film Atlas. She has William Goldenberg’s biographical sports drama film Unstoppable and Bill Condon’s musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman in the pipeline.
