Bengali film star Jeet’s high-octane action entertainer Chengiz is all set to release in theatres in Bengali and Hindi on April 21, the actor announced in a tweet on Tuesday.
“We are glad to announce that #CHENGIZ will be the first-ever Bengali film to have a simultaneous Hindi release,” his tweet read.
Starring Jeet as Chengiz, the film revolves around the underworld fabric of Calcutta from the ’70s to the mid-90s. Also starring Shataf Figar, Susmita Chatterjee and Rohit Bose Roy in key roles, it chronicles the journey of an underworld kingpin who ruled the streets of Calcutta during that period.
The Sathi actor dons an entirely different avatar in this action entertainer, presented by Jeetz Filmworks in association with AA Films. Jeet’s style and charisma for this upcoming movie has been described as “deadly yet chic” in a statement released by the makers.
Chengiz has been directed by Rajesh Ganguly, who has also worked on the dialogues and screenplay. He has co-written the story with Neeraj Pandey.
