Jawan Day 4 box office performance: Shah Rukh Khan's latest blockbuster mints Rs 538 crore globally

The Atlee-helmed actioner has also emerged as the first Hindi film to register single-day earnings more than Rs 70 crore on Sunday

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has roared past the Rs 500-crore mark in terms of worldwide gross box office collections, raking in Rs 538 crore in theatres around the globe since its release on September 7, according to Box Office India.

Shah Rukh is the only Indian actor to have accomplished this feat twice in a single year. The Bollywood star’s previous blockbuster — Pathaan — had taken five days to cross the Rs 500-crore milestone globally and went on to collect a staggering collection of Rs 1,055 crore during its theatrical run.

Jawan has also been shattering box office records at the domestic box office as it emerged as the first Hindi film to register single-day earnings more than Rs 70 crore on Sunday, minting Rs 72 crore nett (in Hindi) in India alone. With an additional Rs 8.5 crore nett in Tamil and Telugu, the action-entertainer collected Rs 80.5 crore nett in all languages on Day 4.

Jawan’s domestic box office journey commenced with a stellar opening day collection of Rs 75 crore nett in all languages on September 7, followed by an equally impressive Rs 53.23 crore nett on its first Friday. Saturday saw Jawan surge ahead with a staggering Rs 77.83 crore nett. With Sunday’s collections, the total four-day earnings of the movie in India now stand at Rs 286.56 crore nett.

Alongside Shah Rukh, Jawan also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in significant roles with special cameos by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.
