Jawan Day 1 box office: Shah Rukh Khan delivers biggest opening of all time with Rs 75 crore nett

Also featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, the Atlee directorial’s Hindi version opened with Rs 65 crore nett

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is off to an electrifying start, raking in Rs 75 crore nett in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on its release to emerge as the highest opening-day grosser of all time, according to Box Office India figures.

Jawan, helmed by Atlee, surpassed Shah Rukh’s previous release Pathaan, which had previously held the record, by a considerable margin of Rs 18 crore. The Siddharth Anand directorial had amassed Rs 57 crore on its opening day.

Also featuring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in significant roles, Jawan has been performing well in Tamil and Telugu languages. While the Hindi version of the actioner earned Rs 65 crore nett, the Tamil and Telugu versions contributed additional earnings of approximately Rs 10 crore nett.

Jawan also topped Pathaan’s Day 1 collections (Rs 27.02 crore nett) at the national chains, minting Rs 29.30 crore nett at PVR-INOX and Cinepolis.

According to Box Office India estimates, the worldwide Day 1 gross of the Atlee-helmed actioner is likely to be in the range of Rs 132-140 crore nett.

Earlier in the day, Shah Rukh Khan had taken to X to express his gratitude and excitement for the overwhelming response to Jawan. “Wow have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily in the theatres and even outside. So overwhelmed will surely do the needful as soon as I get my breath back in a day or so. Uff!! Love u for loving #Jawan,” he wrote.
