Jawaan director Atlee officially confirmed his baby son’s name on Instagram on Sunday, a day after Shah Rukh Khan revealed the name on Twitter during a question-answer session on the microblogging site.

During his #AskSRK session on Saturday, Shah Rukh replied to queries from his fans. On being asked about Atlee’s speciality, the Pathaan actor wrote, “@Atlee_dir is very dedicated and smart. Also now he has such a lovely baby Meer and Priya feeds me very good food. #Jawan.”

Atlee and his wife Krishna Priya welcomed their first born on January 31 this year after nine years of marriage. The couple hadn’t revealed the name of their baby until Shah Rukh spilled it out. On Sunday, the Theri director posted a picture on Instagram of him and his wife cradling their son. “Yes the name is MEER ❤️ Very happy to be revealing our little angels name ❤️👼🏻,” he wrote alongside the picture.

Several celebrities sent their wishes for the filmmaker and his son. Yashoda actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu wrote, “Congratulations darlings.” Kajal Aggarwal also commented on the photo and wrote, “Lots of love to all three of you!!! Big hugs to baby Meer ❤️❤️❤️.”

The #AskSRK session, which took place on May 6 after the release date of Jawaan was revealed, also saw Shah Rukh praise Atlee for his directorial style. Asked about what he liked most about Jawaan, the 57-year-old actor wrote, “For me at least it’s a new kind of a genre. An Atlee special and the marriage of trying to bring two ways of making films in tandem.”

Headlined by Shah Rukh, Jawaan has been postponed to be released on September 7 this year. The film, which marks Atlee’s Hindi debut, also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara along with a cameo by Deepika Padukone.
