A new teaser of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Friday revealed a star-studded lineup featuring celebrities like Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Badshah and Sania Mirza for upcoming episodes of the Netflix reality chat show.

The teaser also featured Ed Sheeran, who will be seen with Kapil in the episode to be streamed on Saturday. Badminton player Sania Nehwal and boxer Mary Kom are also on the guest list.

While Janhvi and Rajkummar are seen promoting their Mr. & Mrs. Mahi in the teaser, Kartik appears with his mother Mala Tiwari. Janhvi mimics various animals, including a chimpanzee, and Kartik cracks up at Kapil’s jokes in yet another scene.

Anil Kapoor and Farah Khan Kunder also appear in the teaser. Anil and Kapil’s light-hearted banter leaves Farah in stitches. Later, Krushna Abhishek appears dressed as actress Malaika Arora from the music video of Chaiyya Chaiyya (1998). “You look less like Malaika and more like Arbaaz,” quips Farah.

The trailer also features glimpses of Neetu Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Ranbir Kapoor. Mary Kom lets her hair down on stage, while Sania playfully chides Kapil. Saina, on the other hand, praises the ingenuity of Kapil’s lines. The video ends with Kapil and Kartik performing a humorous skit with a couple of furry playmates.

“This is the craziest, most fun show!” exclaims Sheeran, who raises the roof with a breathtaking rendition of his 2017 track Shape of You. The 33-year-old singer-songwriter also recreates Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic arm-stretch pose and Allu Arjun’s signature chin-rub pose from the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise.

The comedy show streams every Saturday at 8pm on Netflix.
