Janhvi Kapoor executed perfect extra-cover drives in a garden and a room as part of her off-field preparation for Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, shows a new behind-the-scenes video dropped by Dharma on Thursday.

The video, covering an eight-day period, begins with Janhvi honing her batting skills in a garden. The behind-the-scenes footage also shows her working on her stance with trainers in various indoor and outdoor locations.
The makers had previously shared that Janhvi received two years of professional training for her role in the film. The actress hurt herself during the training sessions and yet continued the training for what her role in the film demanded.
“And now we land up in a spot we are like okay, how do we make this film. She loves pushing. I don’t know what fetish she has got with pushing herself to the limit, but she loves pushing herself to the tilt...I genuinely don't know how she kind of pushed through the pain barrier and gave her five thousand percent, through the training, through the shoot. She gave the film something that I don't think most actors would be able to commit that much,” director Sharan is heard saying in the video.
Another behind-the-scenes video shared by Janhvi ahead of the film’s theatrical release on May 31 showed her running and lifting weights to maintain her physical fitness. It also showed the actress diligently working on her batting stance. The video concluded with a clip of Janhvi hitting the ball out of the park.
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, also starring Rajkummar Rao, follows the story of Mahima (Janhvi), a doctor with a passion for cricket. Mahima enters into an arranged marriage with Mahendra Aggarwal (Rajkummar), an aspiring cricketer who wishes to play for Team India. After Mahendra’s dreams of becoming an acclaimed cricketer are dashed, he discovers his wife’s cricketing talent and encourages her to chase her dreams.
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi marks Rajkummar and Janhvi’s second collaboration after the 2021 Hardik Mehta-directed horror comedy Roohi. It is also the second time Janhvi is teaming up with Sharan Sharma after Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020).
