Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is now available to stream on Netflix, the streamer has confirmed, sharing a poster of the romantic sports drama.
“Their story is the ultimate match. Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is about to hit it straight to your screens, arriving at midnight on Netflix,” the streaming platform wrote on its social media handle on Thursday.
Directed by Sharan Sharma, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi tells the love story of a failed cricketer named Mahendra (Rajkummar) and a doctor named Mahima (Janhvi). They come together through an arranged marriage and become Mr. and Mrs. Mahi. The new couple soon discover their mutual love and passion for cricket. Mahendra recognises Mahima's cricketing talent and encourages her to pursue her dream of becoming a cricketer, coaching her along the way.
Also starring Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Purnendu Bhattacharya, Zarina Wahab and Arijit Taneja, the film was produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions.
Announced in November 2021, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi was shot from May 2022 to May 2023. It premiered on May 31 this year and received mixed reviews from critics.
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi was a box-office disappointment, earning Rs 51 crore against its Rs 40 crore budget. The movie marks the second collaboration between Janhvi and Rajkummar, following their 2021 horror-comedy Roohi.
