The who’s who of Bollywood – from veterans to newcomers – turned up at Manish Malhotra’s early Diwali bash, held in Mumbai on Tuesday. While some turned up in metallic hues and bold silhouettes others chose the traditional whites, reds and yellows to brighten up the party. Here’s a look at the festive fun and fashion of Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Suhana Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and others who attended Manish Malhotra’s star-studded do.
Janhvi Kapoor embodied the spirit of the festival of lights as she sparkled in a holographic sari, shiny danglers and neckpiece. A sequined clutch rounded off her shiny look. ‘Tis the season to be shiny!!!! Not that I needed an excuse ” wrote the actress on her Insta feed before heading to the party.
Kiara Advani attended the party with her husband, Sidharth Malhotra. While the 33-year-old actress was the golden girl of the party, shining in a sequinned golden sari with a beaded string pallu and a corset-fit mauve blouse, Sidharth looked handsome in a red-and-gold embroidered kurta.
Rekha, as usual, looked her traditional best in a bright orange-and-golden Kanjeevaram as she posed for the camera with Khushi Kapoor and her rumoured boyfriend Vedang Raina. Janhvi’s younger sister dazzled in a black sari, adorned with rings and crystals while Vedang matched her with an all-black look.
Much like Khushi, Sharvari Wagh slayed in a black sari at the bash. The actress, set to share screen space with Alia Bhatt in YRF Spy Universe’s first female-led film Alpha, teamed it with a beaded bralet blouse, sparkly danglers and sultry makeup.
Ananya Panday’s white net sari worn over an embroidered underskirt made for a striking contrast to Khushi and Sharvari’s all-black ensembles. The CTRL actress donned a traditional neckpiece and a maang tikka to complete her gauzy look.
Host, Manish Malhotra did the rounds of the party, taking selfies with all his faves. Here he is in a selfie with Suhana Khan, who sizzled in a red sari and a glittery, strapless corset blouse.
Kriti Sanon lit up the bash in a bright yellow embellished sari, which she paired with a pearl-studded golden blouse. Bejewelled danglers and a maang tikka elevated the Do Patti actress’ glam quotient.
Fellow Do Patti actress, Kajol, came in a sequined metallic maroon co-ord set. She kept her hair down and wore minimal accessories to keep her look fabulous and fuss-free.
Aditya Roy Kapur, who is currently working on Anurag Basu’s Metro.... In Dino, turned up the heat in a black bandhgala, embroidered with white floral details.
Looking elegant, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh attended the Diwali do in their traditional best. While Genelia stunned in a yellow zari-work lehenga paired with a peach embroidered dupatta, Riteish looked dapper in a black kurta paired with black trousers.
Sobhita Dhulipala, who is set to tie the knot with actor Naga Chaitanya, looked regal in a shimmery bluish-purple sari with an embroidered border. The Love Sitara actress chose to wear studs in her ears, gold bangles, a simple bindi, and minimal makeup.
Karan Johar got caught up in the sister act, as he posed with Isha Ambani and her bhabhi Radhika Merchant. While both KJo and Isha embraced the festive spirit in bright red ensembles, Radhika went for a muted ombre sari with golden borders.
Shraddha Kapoor, who is winning hearts with Stree 2 and became the most followed Indian actress on Instagram, showed up in a white tissue sari over an embroidered silver blouse. Her shoulder-length bob and peach-hued makeup perfectly complemented her elegant look.
Matched in cream and gold hues, it-couple Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput spelt elegance as they attended the designer’s bash. While Shahid’s pleated anarkali-style kurta offered a unique look, Mira shone in a cream-and-gold-toned sari.
