September 19: Rick and Morty Season 6, Episode 3

Netflix dropped the third episode of Rick and Morty Season 6 on Monday, marking the beginning of an eventful week for the streamer. The episode, titled Bethic Twinstinct, was released after two mind-boggling episodes exploring the adventures of the grandfather-grandson duo.

September 21: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

Stepping into the shoes of the infamous serial killer, we will get to see X-Men star Evan Peters in the upcoming Netflix mini-series. The show will follow the life of Jeffrey Dahmer, who was found guilty of the murder of 17 people in the US between 1978 and 1991. The gruesome murders and Dahmer’s heinous treatment of his victims’ bodies will be explored in the series.

September 22: Thai Cave Rescue

The Netflix series Thai Cave Rescue is based on a real-life incident in Thailand in 2018 in which a team of junior football players and their assistant coach got stranded in a cave. With rising water levels because of torrential rains, rescuing the team turned into a massive operation involving international experts. The 12 children aged 11 to 16 were rescued over a period of 18 days. The series will share the struggles faced by the rescuers, the children and their coach.

September 23: Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega Season 2

The 2020 show Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega showed us the inner workings of phishing scams. The first season left us with a cliffhanger ending. Season 2, directed by Soumendra Padhi, will have cousins Sunny (Sparsh Shrivastav) and Rocky (Anshumaan Pushkar) return as they continue on their respective paths towards power and riches. We will also see Gudiya (Monika Panwar) come back but as a political leader. Season 2 promises more scams and thrills from the backyards of Jamtara.

September 23: Lou

This Netflix movie will have two women on a mission to rescue a kidnapped child. When her daughter is abducted from home, a mother (played by Jurnee Smollett) seeks help from her reclusive neighbour, Lou (played by Allison Janney). Leaving her quiet life with her dog behind, Lou agrees to help find the child. As the two women continue to hunt down the kidnapper, Lou’s past is unravelled while the reason behind the kidnapping becomes apparent.

September 23: A Jazzman’s Blues

The period drama, directed by Tyler Perry, revolves around lovers Bayou (Joshua Boone) and Leanne (Solea Pfeiffer). A Jazzman’s Blues is a movie that explores race politics in the US during the 1930s and ’40s through the relationship between the two lovers. Leanne is forced by her mother to marry a rich, white man, and Bayou rises to fame as a Jazz musician. But the two cannot forgo their feelings for each other even after years of separation. Following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 11, A Jazzman’s Blues will stream on Netflix from September 23.

September 24: Dynasty Season 5

The family drama of the Carrington and Colby families and their extended relations comes to an end with Season 5. Dynasty has been dropping its seasons on Netflix after its television premiere in the US in 2017. With the season finale’s TV premiere on September 16, the wait to catch up ends as Dynasty Season 5 starts streaming on Netflix on September 24. The 22-episode season is the perfect binge material for the weekend.

September 24: Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Alchemy

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Alchemy, the second sequel to the 2017 live-action film Fullmetal Alchemist, based on the anime of the same name, will be available to stream on Netflix from September 24. The first sequel to the film, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar, was added to the streaming platform in August.
