Dharma Productions on Wednesday dropped new posters for the upcoming Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer film Mr & Mrs Mahi, set to release theatrically on May 31.
“Get ready to be stumped by an imperfectly perfect partnership. 🏏 #MrAndMrsMahi in cinemas on 31st May, 2024,” the production banner wrote on Instagram alongside three posters with the tagline ‘an imperfectly perfect partnership’.
The first poster features the two actors in Team India cricket jerseys, celebrating in the stands of a stadium. Rajkummar is seen with one arm on Janhvi’s shoulders while the two look at each other surrounded by other spectators. The third poster shows the actors with the Indian tricolour drawn on their cheek.
Rajkummar and Janhvi also shared the posters on their social media pages. “Dreams & Love team up to give you an imperfectly perfect partnership,” wrote Rajkummar.
Janhvi’s post was captioned, “Miliye Mr aur Mrs Mahi se, inke liye life is cricket aur cricket is life 🏏💘 cricket se badh ke, Mr Mahi only loves his dear wife ❤️.”
The film marks the second cinematic pairing of Rajkummar and Janhvi since the 2021 Hardik Mehta-directed horror comedy Roohi. Mr & Mrs Mahi is also the second time Janhvi will be collaborating with filmmaker Sharan Sharma, who made his directorial debut with the actress’ 2020 film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.
Earlier, makers of the film, which is reportedly based on the life of cricketer MS Dhoni, shared a teaser that introduces Rajkummar as Mahendra and Janhvi as Mahima.
Mr & Mrs Mahi is set to be Rajkummar’s second release this month after the May 10 release of biopic Srikanth, based on the visually-impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. This year promises to be eventful for Janhvi as well as she will be seen in a lead role in the upcoming spy thriller Ulajh and will make her Telugu film debut opposite NTR Jr in Devara: Part 1.
