Emilia Pérez leads 2025 Golden Globe nominations with 10 nods

Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist bagged seven nominations, while Focus Features’ Conclave was close behind with six nods

Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez stole the spotlight with 10 nominations for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Monday. It earned nods in major categories including best motion picture – musical or comedy, best director for Audiard, and acting nominations for Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, and Karla Sofia Gascón.

Emilia Pérez, a whimsical drug cartel musical, also received recognition for its screenplay and original score.

Close behind was Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, an A24 drama chronicling the struggles of a Hungarian architect under the influence of a mysterious art patron. The film scored seven nominations — best motion picture – drama, acting nods for Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, and Guy Pearce, as well as recognition for its score and screenplay.

Focus Features’ Conclave also emerged as a strong contender with six nominations. The gripping drama about a high-stakes papal election earned Ralph Fiennes a best actor in a drama nod, while Isabella Rossellini was recognised for supporting actress. The film also garnered nominations for best picture – drama, screenplay, and score.

In television, FX/Hulu’s The Bear led with five nominations, including best television series – musical or comedy and acting recognition for Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Cólon-Zayas. Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and FX’s Shogun followed with four nominations each, while Netflix’s Nobody Wants This bagged acting and series nods. Limited series like Baby Reindeer, Disclaimer, and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story also made a splash with three nominations each.

For the second year, the Golden Globes is set to honour stand-up comedy and global box office achievements. Nominees for best stand-up comedy special included Jamie Foxx, Nikki Glaser, Seth Meyers, Adam Sandler, Ali Wong, and Ramy Youssef. The global box office achievement category will see blockbusters like Wicked, The Wild Robot, Alien: Romulus, and Deadpool & Wolverine vying for the award.
