Kartik Aaryan’s Rooh Baba will face off against Vidya Balan’s Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, he announced on Thursday, dropping a new poster for the upcoming horror comedy.

“Rooh Baba Vs Manjulika…Iss Diwali. #BhoolBhulaiyaa3,” the 33-year-old actor wrote alongside the poster on Instagram.

The poster features the back profile of Kartik’s Rooh Baba sporting a black kurta and trousers with mantras printed on them. He holds a fire torch while standing on a cliff in front of a haunted castle. A ghostly figure resembling Manjulika appears at the top with several others like her.

Kartik wrapped up shooting for the film on August 1. Helmed by Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director Anees Bazmee, the horror-comedy also features Triptii Dimri and Madhuri Dixit.

The first instalment of the horror-comedy franchise, released in 2007, focused on Avni Chaturvedi (Vidya Balan), a woman grappling with dissociative identity disorder. The movie also starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel and Paresh Rawal.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 revolved around an entrapped spirit seeking revenge. The film emerged as one of the highest-grossing hits of 2022 with a collection of Rs 266.88 crore.

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Kabir Khan’s sports drama Chandu Champion.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar-led T-Series, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is slated to hit the screens this Diwali.
