The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has invited entries for the best web series (OTT) award to be conferred at the 55th edition of the festival, scheduled to take place in Goa from November 20-28.
The last date for submission of entries for the award is August 8.
“The 55th International Film Festival of India, Goa, is rolling out the red carpet for the Best Web Series (OTT) Award, 2024! Submit your entries & showcase your groundbreaking web series to a global audience,” the official handle of National Film Development Corporation of India posted on X.
Only those web series which have been released between January 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024 are eligible for this award. The entry must be an original piece of work, produced, co-produced, commissioned, licensed or acquired for release on an OTT platform.
The web series must have been created/shot in any Indian language with English subtitles. All episodes of the season being submitted as an entry should have been released in the time period mentioned.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the addition of the new award category in 2023. The award was to be presented to a show for its “artistic merit, storytelling excellence, technical prowess, and overall impact”.
Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani served as the head of the five-member jury for the award last year. The panel also included actors Divya Dutta, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and filmmakers Krishna DK and Utpal Borpujari.
Panchayat Season 2, which was selected for the award, received a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh in 2023.
