The voices in the head of 11-year-old Riley are baffled following their unexpected encounter with a new emotion, Anxiety, in the latest teaser of Disney and Pixar’s animation film Inside Out 2, which promises to provide a peek into the mental health challenges of pre-adolescent kids.

Dropped by Pixar on Thursday, the one-minute-30-second-long teaser begins with a glimpse of Riley living peacefully with her emotions — personified as Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger. So far, she has been sure that the voices in her head know her “inside out”. But the entry of Anxiety wreaks havoc on the girl, creating new challenges in her mind and setting the mood for a rollercoaster ride.

Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, adds a fresh and intriguing element to the emotional ensemble. Anxiety, as nerve-wracking as it can be, is not one to take a back seat, hinting at the disruptive role it will play in the intricate workings of Riley's mind in this sequel to Pete Docter’s 2015 animated film Inside Out.

The video also highlights the complexity of emotions in pre-teens as Rylie’s crew of familiar emotions tries to combat the new and unexpected mental challenge.

The film voice-stars Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. The ensemble promises to deliver a performance that will resonate with audiences of all ages.

Slated to release in theatres in June next year, Disney and Pixar's Inside Out 2, directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, promises a blend of laughter, tears, and perhaps a touch of anxiety.
