Indian celebrities at Cannes 2024: Naseeruddin Shah steals spotlight despite shining presence of Kiara Advani and Sobhita Dhulipala; photos inside

Urvashi Rautela, Nancy Tyagi, Ratna Pathak and Prateik Babbar also walked the red carpet at the prestigious event

Apart from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a set of Indian celebrities including Kiara Advani, Sobhita Dhulipala and Nancy Tyagi attended the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. But the spotlight was stolen by Naseeruddin Shah, who walked the red carpet along with his wife Ratna Pathak Shah before a special screening of Shyam Benegal’s 1976 classic Manthan. Take a look.

Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and Prateik Babbar attended the screening of Manthan, India’s first crowdfunded movie, in the Cannes Classics segment on Friday. While Naseeruddin wore a cream-coloured sherwani, Ratna looked gorgeous in a golden sari, which she teamed with a lavender blouse. Prateik looked dapper in a crisp black suit and matching wayfarers.

Clad in a pale orange column gown, Kiara Advani was on Variety’s Global Conversations panel alongside actresses Aseel Omran and Sarocha Chankimha. Later, she changed into a black-and-pink mermaid-cut corset gown with a massive bow at the back and a cascading train.

Urvashi Rautela chose a sheer nude gown by Tunisian designer Souhir El Gabsi for her second red carpet appearance at the 77th Cannes Film Festival during the screening of Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis. On Sunday, the actress-model attended the premiere of Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez in a royal blue gown featuring celestial motifs and a custom La Marquise dancing fish necklace.

Monkey Man actress Sobhita Dhulipala was spotted at the Magnum lounge in Cannes in a beaded brown column gown. The body-hugging dress featured a thigh-high slit and a series of close-set shimmering chains stitched to the neckline. The stunning ensemble was perfectly complemented by matching danglers and hair accessories.

Delhi-based fashion influencer Nancy Tyagi made her Cannes debut in a self-stitched voluminous pink gown adorned with layers of frills and paired with matching lace gloves. For her second red carpet appearance, Nancy wore a sheer mauve sari hand-embroidered by herself, a backless blouse and a matching head wrap fashioned from a modified pallu.

Entrepreneur and influencer Diipa Büller-Khosla chose a metallic structured dress for her first look at the event. For her second appearance, Diipa wore a white Falguni Shane Peacock ensemble, which combined the elegance of a dhoti with the grace of a saree drape, while her third and final outfit was a custom red column gown with a floor-grazing frilled cape.
