Music composers A.R. Rahman and Ilaiyaraaja will perform at the Yuva Dasara event of this year’s Mysuru Dasara celebrations, set to take place from October 6 to October 10.

Yuva Dasara, a cultural programme that is part of Mysuru Dasara, will be inaugurated on October 6 by producer Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, wife of the late Puneeth Rajkumar. The inauguration will be followed by a performance by Shreya Ghoshal and her team.

On October 7, music composer and lyricist Ravi Basrur will perform at the event, while rapper Badshah will take over on October 8.

The highlight of Yuva Dasara will be the performances by A.R. Rahman and Ilaiyaraaja. Rahman, known for his globally-celebrated compositions, will perform on October 9, followed by Ilaiyaraaja closing the event with his team on October 10.

This year’s Yuva Dasara event has undergone a change, with the venue being shifted from the usual Maharaja’s College Grounds to the Uttanahalli Grounds, located on the outskirts of Mysuru. The district administration has also introduced entry fees, anticipating a massive footfall for the concerts.

The Mysuru Dasara celebrations will officially begin at Chamundi Hills on October 3. Keeping with tradition, the Dasara exhibition will also commence on the day of the inauguration. As per custom, after the nine-day Sharan Navaratri festivities, a procession featuring decorated elephants — the Jumboo Savari — will be held on October 12.
