Huma Quereshi’s Rani Bharti is desperate for release from prison as she goes on the warpath against conniving politician Navik Kumar (Amit Sial) in the trailer of SonyLIV’s political drama series Maharani Season 3, dropped by the makers on Monday.
The two-minute-30-second trailer kicks off with Rani in prison and Navin Kumar mocking her, letting her know that they have been running a smear campaign against her. Though Rani appears to be resigned to a life in prison, an assassination attempt on her children kicks her back to action. Asking for a bail, she decides to go on a path of vengeance against those who wronged her.
The illegal alcohol racket run by Navin appears to be at the forefront of this season. With his liquor smuggling getting busted and people dying of tainted liquor, Navin is at a loss to find out the cause. The trailer ends with Rani saying that the weak use guns, while smart people use their brains, indicating that she is likely the orchestrator of the revenge plot.
Created by Subhash Kapoor and directed by Saurabh Bhave, Maharani Season 3 will also feature Vineet Kumar, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, Sushil Pandey, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Sohum Shah.
Produced by Naren Kumar and Dimple Kharbanda, the new season will start streaming on SonyLIV from March 7.
