Hollywood star Hugh Jackman has started training to get back his jacked-up Wolverine look for the upcoming Ryan Reynold-headlined Deadpool 3, the actor announced in an Instagram post recently.

Jackman, who has played Wolverine in all the X-Men movies since 2000, will reprise the role of the clawed mutant after a gap of six years in Deadpool 3.

“Andy may be tiny but he’s fully committed to the training. #becomingwolverineagain. Also he’s not mine. He belongs to my trainer Beth Lewis,” Jackman wrote alongside a picture of him carrying a French bulldog, a sipper and gym gear.

The development comes hardly a few days after the 54-year-old revealed in an Instagram video that he is undergoing more skin cancer tests.

Sporting a bandage on his nose, the Wolverine actor took to social media to urge followers to get checked and follow sun-safety advice. “Verified I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I’m going to keep talking about them, if need be. And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I’m happy,” he wrote.

In 2000, Jackman had his breakthrough Hollywood role as Wolverine in Bryan Singer’s X-Men. He then reprised the role in 2003’s X2, 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and the 2009 prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

He also played a cameo as Wolverine in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. The Australian-origin actor returned for the role again in 2013’s The Wolverine and reprised the character in the 2014 sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past before briefly appearing in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse.

In 2015, Jackman announced that 2017’s Logan would be his final appearance as Wolverine. However, last year the actor confirmed his return as Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool in the third instalment of the superhero film series.

Reynolds took to Instagram to share the news via a fun video and captioned it, “Hard keeping my mouth sewn shut about this one. ⚔️”

The duo then posted another video in which they try to explain various questions about the collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine. However, loud music starts playing half way through the video, making the two actors inaudible.

Reynolds captioned the video, “Quick explainer video that tackles… 1) Timeline questions 2) Logan canon 3) MCU FAQ 4) Whether we can do this all day or not.”
