Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Fighter witnessed a significant drop in collections on Monday after breaching the Rs 100-crore mark at the global box office in four days, according to early estimates.
According to industry-tracking website Sacnilk, the Siddharth Anand-helmed aerial action thriller is expected to earn Rs 8 crore nett on Day 5, indicating a sharp decline in its daily box office performance.
Fighter, which opened at Rs 22.5 crore nett at the domestic box office on January 25, had a stellar weekend, earning Rs 39.5 crore nett on Friday, Rs 27.5 crore nett on Saturday, and Rs 29 crore nett on Sunday. With Monday’s earnings, the total collection of the movie stands at Rs 126.50 crore nett in India.
Also starring Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles, Fighter is a tribute to the valour, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian Air Force. Hrithik portrays Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania aka Patty, Deepika as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore aka Minni, and Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh aka Rocky in the film.
Siddharth Anand’s previous film Pathaan was a massive box office success, grossing Rs 1,050 crore worldwide. Hrithik’s last release, Vikram Vedha (2022), was a dud at the box office, garnering a meagre Rs 135 crore worldwide. Deepika, who was the female lead in Pathaan, was last seen in Atlee’s Jawan, which emerged as the highest grossing Indian movie of 2023, with a worldwide collection of Rs 1,150 crore.
