“Fighter has broken all previous records on Netflix for a Bollywood Film, leaving behind the previous bests #Animal and #Dunki by a wide margin. This #HrithikRoshan starrer garnered 12.4 million views in just 10 days. It has become the fastest Bollywood film to get these figures,” read a story shared by the production house on Instagram. Hrithik reshared the story on his Instagram account.

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki, which premiered on Netflix on February 15, garnered around 4.9 million views in its first week on the digital platform. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal dropped on Netflix on January 26. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial clocked 6.2 million views in its first week on the streamer.

In the aerial-action drama, Hrithik plays squadron leader Shamsher Pathania, aka Patty, while Deepika essays the role of Minal Rathore, better known as Minni. The film also stars Anil Kapoor as group captain Rakesh ‘Rocky’ Jai Singh.

Following a terror attack in Srinagar, Rocky forms a team called Air Dragons consisting of skilled fighter pilots — Patty, Minnie, Sartaj ‘Taj’ Gill (Karan Singh Grover) and Basheer ‘Bash’ Khan (Akshay Oberoi).

Packed with intense aerial battle sequences reminiscent of Tom Cruise’s Top Gun movies, the film seamlessly blends visual extravaganza and patriotism. Newcomer Rishabh Sawhney plays the role of the antagonist in Fighter.

Produced under the banners of Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, the film was released theatrically on January 25 and garnered over Rs 337 crore worldwide.
