Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Fighter failed to cross the Rs 150-crore mark in its first week in theatres despite a promising start to its box-office run on January 25, according to data-tracking platforms.
The Siddharth Anand-helmed aerial action thriller crossed the Rs 100-crore mark within the first four days of its release. However, the collections dropped over the weekdays. The film earned Rs 8 crore nett on Monday, Rs 7.5 crore nett on Tuesday and Rs 6.5 crore nett on Wednesday. According to data-tracking website Sacnilk, Fighter managed to earn only Rs 5.75 crore nett on its eighth day in theatres.
With Thursday’s earnings, the total extended first-week collection of Fighter stands at Rs 146.25 crore nett in India. Fighter managed to amass Rs 168.75 crore in gross collection in India, with overseas collections totalling Rs 72 crore gross, bringing the worldwide collection to Rs 240.75 crore gross.
The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi, is centred around the Balakot airstrike conducted by the Indian Armed Forces in response to a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Hrithik plays Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania aka Patty, while Deepika Padukone takes on the role of Squadron Leader Minal Rathore aka Minni in the film.
