Amitabh Bachchan defied his octogenarian status to perform daring stunts by hanging from wires attached to the roof in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, shows a behind-the-scenes photo shared by the Bollywood veteran.
The photo shows the 81-year-old actor in tattered clothes and hanging from wires above a hand-like structure.
Sharing the picture on Instagram, the 81-year-old actor wrote, “Errr … KALKI at work !! Umm .. just hanging around.”
Fans flooded the comments section with their love and awe for the veteran actor’s work ethic. “Wow sir. Hats off to u working so hard at this age. U r inspiration to all age,” one of them wrote, while another commented, “Best performance of the year. Amit ji you proved again that you are the best ever…forever.”
Amitabh played Ashwatthama, the immortal son of Drona from the Mahabharata, in Kalki 2898 AD, which hit theatres on June 27. The film revolves around Deepika Padukone, who is being hunted down by Prabhas’ bounty hunter in a dystopian world ruled by a despot portrayed by Saswata Chatterjee.
Amitabh also recently shared a poster of the film and announced that it has collected Rs 1000 crore at the global box office. “1000 CRORES and counting…This milestone is a celebration of your love. We poured our hearts into this film, and you embraced it with open hearts. Thank you to the audience across the world,” he wrote.
Kalki: 2898 AD, which has been filmed at home and abroad, also stars Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan in key roles. Santhosh Narayanan serves as the music composer of the film, while the cinematography is done by Djordje Stojiljkovic.
