Actor Ali Fazal on Friday recalled how he got the opportunity to join filmmaker Baz Luhrmann’s photoshoot featuring Blake Lively and Hugh Jackman while he was shooting in Los Angeles.

“Ok let me put it to rest - yes that is me all secretly dressed up royalty crashing Baz Luhrmann’s Hitchcockian Whodunnit Casino scene. Hehe. And for the rest of this beautiful ensemble piece- WHAT CAN I SAY Anything for Baz @bazluhrmann . I was filming a project in LA when I got the call . And I have truly been blessed that this was the 3rd time Anna Wintour who I can never thank enough , has had me out and about for my American Vogue outing. So, we jump on a plane and we play,” the 37-year-old actor wrote on Instagram, sharing a cropped picture of him at a casino alongside Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman.

Ali said that the best part about working with Luhrmann is that the filmmaker shot the pictures like movie scenes. “It was one shot, and the best part about Baz comin in was he shot the whole thing like scenes so, there’s my dreams of workin with him coming true. Well, not fully - what? Almost.. What,” he wrote.

Giving a shout out to Lively and Jackman, Ali wrote, “And Blake @blakelively you’re a rockstar , I do hope our paths cross again in good time…Mr Jackman - Aye aye. @thehughjackman.”

On Friday, Lively shared an Instagram carousel carrying pictures from the photoshoot. One of the pictures featuring her and Jackman sporting luxurious clothes at a casino also featured Ali, which soon went viral on social media. In the photo, the Mirzapur actor sports a sherwani with a golden neckchain.

In her post, Lively wrote, “@bazluhrmann & @catherinemartindesigns you know this, but you’re two of the artists I’ve admired the most & longest in my lifetime. To get to work with you both, was in the most literal sense, a lifelong dream come true. And you’re even more wonderful as people. You see the best in everyone & everything, & because of that, that’s what you get from everyone.”

Lively’s latest film It Ends With Us, adapted from Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name, hit theatres on Friday. Ali has worked in several Hollywood films like Death on the Nile, Victoria & Abdul and Kandahar.
