The makers of House of the Dragon, a spin-off of Game of Thrones, released six new posters of the upcoming second season of the fantasy web series, dividing Targaryens into Team Black and Team Green ahead of the show’s trailer release on March 21.
“Tomorrow. All Must Choose. #TeamGreen or #TeamBlack #HOTDS2,” the official X page of the series wrote alongside the posters.
In House of the Dragon, Team Green backs Aegon II Targaryen, the designated heir, while Team Black supports his half-sister Rhaenyra Targaryen, hinting at the brutal civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons, which shattered the Targaryen dynasty.
While the Team Green posters include Aegon II Targaryen, Ser Criston Cole, Aemond Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, the Blacks are made up of Rhaenyra Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen, Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen. The posters carry the tagline “All Must Choose” as both the factions prepare themselves for a war.
House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal is reportedly the creator of the second season alongside Martin.
Based on George RR Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon revolves around House Targaryen’s history, spanning Aegon’s Conquest to the Dance of the Dragons, following their father King Viserys I’s death. A constant power struggle ensues among his heirs, leading to a tumultuous era.
House of the Dragon Season 2, slated to release in June this year, will be available to stream on JioCinema.
