Punjabi rapper Honey Singh said he will attend his “best friend” Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding in Mumbai this month despite a shoot scheduled in London for the first song of his upcoming album Glory.
Sonakshi is reportedly getting married to her longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal later this month, though no official confirmation has been given by the couple.
"Though I'm going to be in London shooting Glory's first song, I will make sure to attend my best friend @aslisona Sonakshi’s wedding. She has been a big support in my career and helped me many times in life. Best wishes to the power couple Sona and Zaheer! Bholenath bless them,” the 41-year-old rapper wrote on his Instagram stories on Friday.
Insiders say Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding will be an intimate affair attended by family and close friends at a fine-dining restaurant in Mumbai on June 23.
Both Sonakshi and Zaheer featured in Satramm Ramani’s 2022 comedy-drama Double XL. The film also starred Huma Qureshi in a key role.
Honey Singh and Sonakshi collaborated last year on the music video Kalaastar, released by the record label Zee Music Company. A documentary film on the life of the singer is slated to premiere on Netflix later this year.
Sonakshi was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s maiden web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar alongside Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh. The period drama series is currently streaming on Netflix.
