The Hoichoi series Rajneeti has been receiving rave reviews and seems to have ticked all the right boxes for the viewers. Rajneeti is a gripping political thriller, directed by Sourav Chakraborty, and stars a talented ensemble cast including Ditipriya Roy, Arjun Chakrabarty, Kaushik Ganguly, and Koneenica Banerjee. “Working with Sourav and team for the first time was wonderful. Rajneeti delves into the intricate world of politics, power, and corruption, unravelling a suspenseful narrative that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats. Set against the backdrop of a fictional political scenario, the series explores the complexities and dark underbelly of the political landscape existing inside the family of Rathin Banerjee, where loyalty, ambition, and deceit collide.
The story revolves around a political family and sees the journey of a young girl Rashi, who is recovering from a state of coma after meeting with a fatal car accident. She has lost her long-term memory since the accident and struggles to remember her past. During the process of her recovery, she slowly discovers the secrets of the household, the conspiracies, and the true intentions of her near and dear ones.
Kaushik Ganguly plays the character of Rathin Banerjee in Rajneeti. “It was a thrilling experience to be directing a celebrated director like Kaushik Ganguly. He has been very flexible throughout the shoot and has done a wonderful job. Ditipriya Roy has played the character of Rashi Banerjee and always surprises me with the maturity that she brings with her performance. Konineeca Banerjee, another seasoned actor, played the character of Rahsi’s mother Mallika Banerjee. Arjun Chakrabarty plays the character of Shaunak Sen,” says Sourav.
