The trailer of the new murder mystery series Homestay Murders, directed by Sayantan Ghosal, dropped recently. Set in the misty mountains of North Bengal, the series stars a stellar ensemble cast comprising Sohini Sarkar, Arjun Chakrabarty, Parno Mittrah, Debchandrima Singha Roy, Saurav Das, Sabuj Bardhan, Aparajita Ghosh and Judhajit Sarkar in pivotal roles. The trailer hints at a spine-chilling tale of a group of tourists trapped in a homestay, with its two owners, as suspects, while a killer is on the loose.

As a group of strangers is trapped together, they start turning on each other while the killer waits to strike again, in this utter chaos. The trailer leaves the viewers at a major cliffhanger.

Speaking about his new directorial, Sayantan Ghosal said: “As a director, creating a web series inspired by the timeless themes of mystery and intrigue has been an exciting challenge. With each episode, we aim to keep our audience on the edge of their seats with fresh and exciting twists that will keep viewers guessing until the very end. Shooting in the mountains and forests has added a unique and immersive element to the series, helping to transport the audience to the heart of the mystery. I can’t wait for them to join us on this thrilling ride.”

“The entire experience has been fascinating. The concept has been something that had me hooked from the very beginning. The entire team has done a great job in making what Homestay Murders look like today. Working with Hoichoi is like working with a home team and I am grateful to be able to be a part of a murder mystery like Homestay Murders,” says Arjun.

Talking about the web series, Sohini Sarkar said: “It has been a wonderful and exciting journey throughout. After doing Sampurna with Sayantan Ghosal for Hoichoi, which is a social drama, I am really happy to have worked with him again and this time for a murder mystery for Hoichoi. Hoping the audience will appreciate our work once again with Homestay Murders.”

“Kinjal is a very interesting character, someone I haven’t explored before. The story of being trapped inside a homestay while on vacation and becoming suspects in a murder investigation itself is an interesting plot to be playing on. Looking forward and hoping for a positive response once the show releases,” said Saurav.

Homestay Murders streams on Hoichoi from May 12.
