Actress Hina Khan, who is undergoing treatment for stage 3 breast cancer, is set to appear in the Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 18 on November 23, the makers announced on Saturday, dropping a teaser that shows her tearing up on the sets.
“The OG Sher Khan ne Weekend Ke Vaar par dastak di hai, Salman ke chehre par muskuraahat chhayi hai (The OG Sher Khan is here for Weekend Ke Vaar, and Salman is all smiles),” reads a post on the official Instagram page of ColorsTV.
The episode featuring Hina is slated to premiere on Saturday at 9:30 pm on ColorsTV and JioCinema.
“Please welcome real-life fighter, Hina Khan,” says Salman in the video.
Hina, who is currently undergoing treatment for stage 3 breast cancer, recalled how she had earned the title of ‘Sher Khan’ during Season 11 of the reality show, where she finished as the first runner up. The video ends with Hina becoming emotional as Salman assures her, “You will be okay 1000%.”
Hina was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer earlier this year. She has since kept her fans informed about her treatment and chemotherapy journey.
In July, she shared a video of her first chemotherapy session, recounting how she had gone straight to the hospital for her first chemo session after attending an award ceremony.
Later, the actress shared another video that showed her shaving her head to manage the stress of hair loss. “Remember ladies, our strength is our patience and calm. If we put our minds to it, nothing is unattainable," wrote Hina alongside the video.
Hina also shared a video of her wearing a wig made from her own hair.
The actress further revealed that she was suffering from chemotherapy-induced mucositis, an inflammation and ulceration of the mucous membranes that line the mouth and gastrointestinal tract.
The 37-year-old actress also shared a picture of her last remaining eyelash ahead of the final cycle of chemotherapy.
Hina appeared as a contestant on Bigg Boss 11 in 2017.
Hina gained prominence for her role as Akshara in the popular TV serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She later switched to films and OTT content with projects like Hacked and Damaged 2. Her most recent work includes the Punjabi film Shinda Shinda No Papa co-starring Gippy Grewal.
The current instalment of Bigg Boss premiered on Colors TV and JioCinema on October 6.
