HBO dropped the first teaser of the highly-anticipated third season of The White Lotus on Sunday, offering fans a glimpse of Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs and Natasha Rothwell in an opulent Thailand setting.

“New luxuries await you in Thailand,” the streamer wrote on X alongside a six-second-long teaser that included a boat racing into the sunset, a hotel pool and a character saying, “What happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand.”

Created by Mark White, The White Lotus debuted on HBO in 2021 and has gained a strong following for its social commentary, dark humour and stunning visuals. Set against the backdrop of luxurious resorts, each season of the anthology series delves into the lives of wealthy vacationers and the staff who cater to them, exploring themes of privilege, power dynamics and the complexities of human behaviour.

The White Lotus Season 1 was set at the Four Seasons Resort Maui in Hawaii, while the events of Season 2 took place at San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Sicily.

Though the teaser for White Lotus Season 3 doesn’t reveal much of the plot, it confirms the return of Belinda (Natasha Rothwell), the beauty therapist from Season 1, and also shows a glimpse of Parker Posey in her vacation attire and Jason Isaacs.

In a BTS video released after the previous season’s finale, creator Mike White had hinted that the new season will explore themes of death, spirituality and Eastern religion, adding another layer of depth to the series’ already rich narrative tapestry.

The first season of The White Lotus bagged 11 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards in the limited or anthology series categories, winning five of them. The second season received 12 nods at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards across five categories, moving from limited or anthology series to drama series. Jennifer Coolidge won a trophy in the outstanding supporting actress category.
