HBO Max’s limited series The Penguin starring Colin Farrell will be available to watch on JioCinema from September 20, the streaming platform announced on Wednesday.

A spin-off to 2022’s The Batman, the eight-episode series will explore Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin’s rise in Gotham City’s criminal world.

“The takeover begins in one month. The new HBO Original Limited Series #ThePenguin premieres September 20 at 6:30AM IST on JioCinema Premium, and then Mondays at 6:30AM IST starting September 30,” JioCinema wrote alongside a poster of the upcoming series on Instagram.

Farrell will reprise his role as Penguin from The Batman, which starred Robert Pattinson as the titular character. The series also features Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen.

A trailer of the show dropped in July, showing Oswald, a scarred crime lord and former chief lieutenant to Carmine Falcone, confronting new obstacles in establishing dominance over the city’s criminal underworld.

Developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, The Penguin is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, LeFranc, Colin Farrell, Craig Zobel (director of the first three episodes), and Bill Carraro.
