Veteran actress Miriam Margoyles, who played Professor Pomona Sprout in the Harry Potter movie series, has been hospitalised with a chest infection.
The 81-year-old first posted about being kept overnight at The Royal Brompton Hospital, London, on May 5 with a post on her Facebook. “Have to stay overnight for Observation in the High Dependency Unit. BORING,” her post read.
Her next update came the next day with a selfie wearing a hospital gown. “Thanks to my precious friends who thought of me on TAVI DAY. I did survive and am still in The Royal Brompton Hospital certainly till Sunday. I am growing energy but it’s still not quite me. I am putting this so you know how grateful I am for lovely messages. Slowly I’ll get back to The Chase and then Italy, Oz filming in WA and return for a 22 city book tour on Sept 7. Loving hugs. MM,” she wrote.
One day prior, Miriam had revealed that she had undergone a Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedure.
The actress, however, wasn’t released from observation as expected and posted an update once again on May 8. “I spoke too soon. Can’t come home yet: I have a chest infection. Probably tomorrow. But at least I’m resting. Love to all. Thankyou for your lovely messages.”
Miriam is yet to post an update about her medical situation and is still in the hospital.
