Harrison Ford to receive Career Achievement honour at 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards

The Hollywood awards ceremony will take place on January 14

Hollywood veteran Harrison Ford will be honoured with the Career Achievement Award at the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on January 14.

“We are thrilled to honour legendary actor Harrison Ford with the ‘Career Achievement Award’ at the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, January 14th. What’s your favourite Harrison Ford film?” Critics Choice wrote on X (formerly Twitter) alongside posters of some of Ford’s popular films like The Fugitive (1993), Blade Runner (1982) and Witness (1985).

With a career spanning several decades, Ford has emerged as a cultural icon for his portrayal of iconic roles like Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy (1977-83) and Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones film series (1981-2023). Ford received the Palme d’Or Award at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

Ford is currently awaiting the release of the Apple TV+ series Shrinking where he plays an unconventional therapist. The 81-year-old actor also received a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Shrinking this year. He was last seen in 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. His other upcoming projects include Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World in which he plays Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.

At the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards, Greta Gerwig’s 2023 film Barbie has received a record-breaking 18 nominations, while Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s The Morning Show lead the television contenders with six nominations, followed by Succession, Beef, The Bear and Loki.
