Actor Harrison Ford, The West Wing cast and Hugo actress Chloe Grace Moretz have joined the celebrity chorus in support for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, endorsing her ahead of the US polls.

Adding to the momentum for Harris’s campaign, cast members of the iconic television series The West Wing came together to endorse her in a newly released advertisement created in collaboration with the Lincoln Project.

In one of the videos, Ford says, “I’m Harrison Ford, doing something I never thought I’d do. Telling people I’ve never met who I’m voting for and why I think they might do the same.”

The Indiana Jones actor acknowledged that he does not agree with every policy the Democrats advocate. “Do I think they're perfect? C’mon, for crying out loud, they're people just like you and me,” he added.

Sharing his opinion on the current state of affairs, Ford said, “Look, I'm frustrated about a lot of things in this country. I’m sure you are too. But the other guy? He spent four years turning us against each other while embracing dictators and tyrants around the world. What we need is to work together again. What we need is a president who works for all of us again.”

Meanwhile, the cast of The West Wing, including notable actors like Martin Sheen and Allison Janney, shared a statement reflecting on their fictional experiences in the White House while recognising the real-world implications of the upcoming election.

“Our White House was a make-believe world. On November 5, America will make a decision that will have profound consequences for every American and for the American Experiment itself. This is not an ordinary election. Democracy is on the ballot.”

“We support Kamala Harris for president because we love America,” they added.

Meanwhile, actress Chloe Grace Moretz publicly identified as a “gay woman” while endorsing Kamala Harris. “I believe in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ community as a gay woman. We need protections in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve," Chloe wrote in an Instagram post. She emphasised that there is a lot at stake in this election.

“I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor. Kamala Harris will protect that for us,” she added.
