Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn declares “He's not sick. He's perfect” to reporters in the latest Joker: Folie á Deux teaser, dropped by Warner Bros. just ahead of the Todd Phillips directorial’s world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival this week.

The 30-second-long teaser showcases Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck battling chaotic voices in his mind while being transported in a police van. These voices transform into actual dialogue snippets from various characters in both the original Joker film and its sequel, labeling Arthur as sick, delusional, a very disturbed individual and even a monster.

However, the only voice defending Arthur is that of Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn. In a scene that appears to be set during Fleck’s trial, Quinn, surrounded by a throng of reporters, tells a woman that Arthur is not sick. “He’s perfect. He’s Joker,” she is heard saying.

The teaser concludes with Arthur, back in the police van, suddenly composed and expressionless after a fit of manic laughter.

Joker: Folie à Deux is the sequel to the 2019 film Joker, which captivated audiences with its dark, psychological exploration of the iconic DC Comics villain. The title, Folie à Deux, refers to a shared delusion or mental illness, hinting at the complex relationship between Arthur and Harley Quinn.

In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, the film boasts an ensemble cast including Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, and Brendan Gleeson.

Joker: Folie à Deux will release in India on October 2.
